In my personal opinion and as parent yes I think the young dancers were too provocative. I won’t take the fact that the girls were really talented. It was an amazing performing.

On the other hand we need to look at the kind of world we live in today. If this kind of video would have came out back in the 80’s or maybe early 90’s. I am sure this video would have been banned .In today society something we are forgetting is that kids need to be kids. For example look at the generation from before 90’s there was less crime kids were being kids. You would find them outside ridding bike, playing jump rope, hopscotch and or even playing dolls. Today T.V shows are the ones that induce all this kind of nonsense behavior. Young girls are not being young girls anymore. They are too busy trying to look like Hanna Montana, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga. In way I guess this is the price we all must pay for technology.
This new entire revolution is affecting the world and the generation to come. Why because if a seven year old girl is acting this way at seven. How would her behavior be at the peak of her teenage years? Wow sounds scary… It’s sad we are encountering this because what can we really expect in the future. If at seven years old is dancing in this manner. As a result what kind of moms are we going to have in the future? In any case we should allow our young girls to be kids. Unfortunately we are only kids once, being innocent does not have price. Once we losing that our lives will never be the same…

From my point of view, these young girls should not expose themselves in such a manner in front of millions of people. I was in shock when I saw this video, especially to see the parents who did not object. There is no doubt that their dance performance was beautiful; on the contrary, this is a very provocative and sexual dance performance. Moreover, the dance clothes, I would have to say, looked vulgar. These beautiful little girls are simply too young to be sexy! A primary concern here is that these girls do not see anything wrong in this. Likewise, their parents support this “triumph”. Nevertheless, what can we expect from these young girls, if that is how their parents educated them? It all depends on how we were raised. Unquestionably, these girls are very talented and they have a great potential to be successful.
However, these girls are only eight and nine years old, and they should act like children, not like growing ups. We have to question ourselves, if that is how they act today at their age, what will happen few years after? These girls are in a hurry; in the meantime, they do not realize that they have all the time in the world for them.
In other words, most children are in a hurry to grow up and they act very “mature’, no knowing that they are missing the best times of their lives!

  3. The video of the 8 year old girls performing was not provocative. This dance was just an expression of art through their choreographic abilities. These girls worked hard for a competition that was intended for judges, parents, and friends. The performance was obviously taken out of context by someone and viewed by those who are not well aware of the expression of dance performances.
The outfits worn by the girls are just costumes that are exaggerated for the performance, as well as the hair and make-up. These girls are just what they are; girls. They are too young to know what being provocative in a sexual manner is. It is foolish for anyone to assume that these young girls are performing these dances for the wrong reasons. Those that do not know about these competitions should not judge them without reason.

I absolutely agree, that this routine was way too provacative for the young girls depicted in this video. I also agree, that the media has once again hyped up and blown this performance way out of proportion. The fact is, these young girls are just that, young girls. They probaly had no clue that they were being provacative, or sexy, or even scandelous from their point of view. They were just young girls being, well, young girls. They watch and imitate the culture they see around them. Dance is a wonderful art form for young children to grasp but must be done with some kind of class. Their outfits were too revealing and their dance moves were obviously adult oriented. I would not want my seven or ten year old nieces gyrating or wearing scanty clothing like that. They should wait till they are adults for that.
Unfortunately, this is the society that we live in today. Even though the parents were in the audience, cheering and supporting their little ones, this was a showcase intended for a PG-13 rating. Did the parents even know
what kind of dance routine these young girls were going to perform? They were in the audience but did they really expect this much attention? Of course the media had something to do with that. Yes, it was provacative
and yes, it was performed in front of their parents, but did they really want their children to be flaunted and exposed to the world. Remember, this is a world where pedaphiles try and take advantage of young children, and by putting these young girls on stage, dressing them up and dancing like Beyonce, I believe only endangers
them even more. So in this writers opinion, I do believe this dance routine/performance was way too provacative for these young dancers What ever happened to ballet?

I feel that this routine was too provacative. I dont see how parents accept that their young child dance that way. Childern dance like that and sometimes even worst. Now in days its nothing new for children to dance in such way. Children behave like as if they are grown ups.

In my opinion, I think that it was a little too provocative for little girls to dance in that kind of manner. On the other hand, what were they think when they were preparing for this routine to happen? Above all where were the parents in this? I mean couldn’t these parents talk with the people about this and let them perform in front of them before the actual day of the show so the parents can be concerned about the dance routine. I sometimes feel like some of the parents of our society today just do not care about what their kids are doing; they need to be concerned with their children at their young age, even when they get older.

But sometimes it’s ok for the young ones to have fun with their lives. I not just saying this to say that young children can’t have fun with their lives, but they need to learn to approve things beforehand when they are very young, so their children can still have fun without their parents worrying about something bad or offensive happening to them. It is ok for children to have fun dancing at a young age; but the material has to be appropriate for age group. As a result, children should have fun, but only if it is appropriate for their age group or if it is ok with parents by their approval.

I think that the girls dancing where phenomenal. They shouldn’t be judged on how they were dressed and more on how they DANCED. I think we took too much away from the show these girls performed. I think we should leave it up to their parents to supervise and tell them right from wrong, I feel they know what best. Obviously by putting these 8 year old girls in some of the best chorography I seen preformed period they have their best interest in mind.i think we should redirect our attention to mistreated kids and children being abused. However, I feel the media took away from these girls up and coming by dwelling on the costumes and harassing their parents decision by allowing them to wear their costumes either way it good they got their exposure

I have mixed feelings about the performance / routine of the eight year old girls. First of all, it was a talent show and I could imagine they won because these girls were extremely talented. These girls must have practiced this routine constantly. I enjoy performance and dance, so I see this as a great performance and even more because they were eight years old. They showed more talent then some adults. In their mind’s they were Beyonce and they represented. It is a shame how this society puts down everyone even eight years old. By the way this is how stars are born and they have a promising future if that is what they like. Nevertheless, you have to be extra careful with children. There are a lot of crazy and dirty people out there, and living in a society that you can not even trust your neighbor. We could never be too careful!

First of all I think children should be portrayed as children not adults. The way these children were represented was against all morals we would have for our own children. I do not believe that young girls should at any time be dressed in provocative clothes or dance in a provocative manner. I respect the choreography; it was well executed and very stylish for an adult to perform. Beyonce performed it the best and that’s where I think it should stay. Children should never be performing adult skits unless the geared for children.

I see why there is such a big controversy about these young girls' performance. People are always going to judge anyone who performs for competitions. In my opinion I really dont see anything wrong with the performance. All my life I attended many cheer and dance competition due to that my older sister was a performer from a young age. Performers stride in catching peoples attention when they are performing, so their makeup is flashy, their attire is unique and their choreography is extraordinary. These girls deserve attention due to that they are very talented but not the negative attention they are getting. They are performers, they go on stage, and they are creative, off stage they can be completely diffrent. Citics that are saying bad things about these girls and their parents should stop, because maybe some of the girls are going to hear it and just stop performing due to the drama.

I think the dancers were definitely dressed too provocatively. The thing that surprises me the most are the parents. They should be more concerned about their children's modesty. If you don't teach a child modesty when they are young they will never learn it. We live in a society that just keeps pushing the envelope. By this I mean nudity is abundant in our society. It did not just start at the age of 30 it started when adults were young.

Child Molesters prey on this kind of material. Parents need to to think about the way that other people see their children. A parent might think that their child is so cute when they are dressed as a minuture adult. A child molester might see a young women instead of a child. They see someone older than what they really are. These are two reasons that this is wrong.

The little kids did an excelent job with the dance, The problem was that there clothe was not adequate fro their age. I think they looked a little bit provocative with those tiny clothe. Thos kids would have done a better job if they had done the same dance, but with different clothe. I think that when the litt,e girls dont dress in an adequate way for their age, thats when violation starts to get confortable with youn girls.

  14. I think that the young single ladies dancers, routine was not provocative
The way those little girls dance was ridiculous amazing for there age. I mean yes their outfit was kind of provocative, but its for the show people common its not like they wear those outfits all the time! People like to judge point out fingers to create drama. Are we people going to always point out and say what to wear and what not to wear? In my opinion it all depends on the parents if they approve and supported the young girls outfit.

  15. Gustavo C. I'm a big believer that what children do is a reflection of their parents and how they're raised. Ultimately when it comes down children listening to explicit music, playing adult video games, or watching rated-R movies that it's the parents responsibility. A child's nature is to be curious and wonder what's out there in the world aside from the confines of their home. It's up the parents to decide when to introduce certain things into their children's lives. That being said, I don't think that all parents make the right decisions. The biggest problem I have with this video is that I'm scared that the children of today are growing up faster than ever before. And I think that's because we have more and more young parents. Somebody in an earlier post said that these girls probably don't even understand what they're dancing to. That's the scariest part. I don't think that these girls are going to grow up to be the future prostitutes of America but simple misconceptions can lead to disaster. I just think that there's a time and a place for certain things and that kids just need to be kids. There's plenty of time to grow up and act as adults.
